[Which isn't the strangest part about it all, given how Connor himself was modified at a base level when he arrived. A destroyed android arriving in once piece isn't out of the realm of possibility. But...]

[Thus, after his last recollection of Simon very clearly destroying himself. Connor has absolutely no doubts that the android was permanently... dead, for lack of a better word, thanks to the connection he had with the deviant at the time. There would be no way for him to be restored from damage like that.]

[Markus feels like something squeezes his biocomponents. If Simon says that he's from the day after Connor is, then...]

[Timeline ramifications aside to stress about later.]

Where is he?

That was the conclusion I came to.

[Nearly all the deviants he came across ended up destroyed in some way or another, even if it was by their own actions... it does seem unlikely that he'd encounter Simon soon after the broadcast without it ending poorly for the latter.]

I showed him to the Welcome Center a few minutes ago.

[Though Connor can't see him, Markus is already shrugging on his coat.]

I'll meet him there.

[What happens then, is yet to be seen. He's not so egotistical to think that Simon needs him - they've only known each other a couple days, after all. But he's sure a familiar face wouldn't hurt.]

[The sense of a nod comes through, even if it's not visible. He does think that seeing Markus in person will be helpful for Simon—both personally, and for him to... not be dangerous to any of the other people here. And with how close Simon seemed to pulling out a gun...]

How is Lieutenant Anderson?

[There's a marked pause before Connor answers, and the part of him still clinging to his programming tells him not to share much at all about the human he's gotten so close to. Ultimately, he ignores it.]

He seems fine. He always has his moments, but... things have been alright.

[Maybe sometime he will bring up the Tragic Backstory(TM)... but at the same time, it might not be his to share. He doesn't know what to think about it yet.]

I plan to mention this to him later today. I expect it will be a strange conversation...

I'm glad that he's well.

[He doesn't know the Lieutenant as well as Connor does, but he's fond of the man from what little he knows of him.]

It's a strange situation.

[But in a way, selfishly he's glad for it. That Simon gets a second chance, and even that he now has to consider the possibility that the branching universe theories were all correct, which is a rabbit hole that his processor will probably start smoking if he goes too far down.]

As is all of this world.

[He supposes he should get used to it; things are certainly not going to get any more normal, but... facing the reality of alternate timelines is something he's not sure he's ready for.

He'll confront it eventually, but not during this conversation. Little does he know he'll have other things to worry about soon enough...]
